Hi, I'm Tara Heitmann!

I'm a photographer based in Aberdeen, South Dakota, specializing in weddings, seniors, families, and newborns.

Emmy Gray Photography started with a love for photographing my own kids and quickly turned into something so much bigger. When I first dreamed of starting my business, I knew I wanted to name it after my children, Emmy and Grayson. Fast forward a few years, and my husband, Josh, and I added our third child, Gavin, to the mix. Unfortunately for him, the business name was already taken!

What started as a passion for capturing my own family's memories has grown into a career I truly love. From wedding days and senior portraits to growing families and brand-new babies, I get to document some pretty incredible milestones in people's lives.

And while my name might be the one behind the camera, Emmy Gray Photography is really a team effort! My husband, Josh, joins me for weddings as my second photographer or takes the lead on videography when couples book both services. He's also our drone guy! I handle all the photo and video editing, bringing everything together to tell your story.

My approach is pretty simple. I want you to feel comfortable, have fun, and walk away with photos and videos that feel like YOU. Nothing overly complicated or forced. Just genuine moments, real connections, and memories you'll love looking back on.
